| Cytech Technology is situated
in Singapore, home to some of the world's high technology companies. The
company was founded in 1995 by Chiu Lu Yung and Gary Tan with the aim of
becoming a leading manufacturer of Home Automation solutions for this rapidly
emerging market. The company was started in the Singapore Science Park with
the help of an Research and Development Grant from the Singapore Economic Development Board
to develop the Comfort system. The pioneer members of the engineering team, Zheng Xian
and Chan Hee Lye remain with the Company today.
The first version was produced in late 1996, after many rounds of testing, modifications and redesigns. This was a telephone-controlled system without a dedicated keypad. In 1998 the KP01 keypad was launched with a built-in microphone and speaker. The DP01 Door Station was also introduced for outdoor intercom use. Comfort has been tested and approved to many international telecommunications and safety standards, including BABT (UK), ACA (Australia), New Zealand Telecoms, Underwriters Laboratories (USA), FCC Part 68 and Part 15, South Africa, IDA (Singapore), JTM (Malaysia). The product has undergone many reliability and life tests, including surge testing on all telephone connections, and all inputs and outputs. Cytech Technology is completely focused on the Design, Manufacture, Sales and Support of Home Automation products. Its design team constantly upgrades and improves the product with feedback from users and installers around the world. The product is designed for easy and affordable firmware upgrades, requiring just a change of the firmware IC. New firmware versions are released every few months, each version providing improvements in operation or new features. The Comfort II second generation product was introduced in late 2005 and includes includes LCD keypads, Slave Expansion Modules, Infrared Learner/Receivers and transmitters, Lighting ontrol Modules, Current sensors, Universal Communications Module (UCM). with RS232 and Ethernet interfaces, the Comfort Webserver Module (CWM) for Internet access, Designer Scene Control Switches, GSM Module, handheld remote controllers and temperature sensors One of Comfort's strengths is its many interfaces to third party products including EIB/KNX (European Installation Bus), C-Bus (Clipsal), Lutron, Dynalite, Rako lightibg systems, Honeywell Smartfit thermostat, Intercoms, AV systems, Fingerprint readers and access control systems |
